D2NA take part in the UHNM Charity Euro’s Tournament

Representing Italy, the D2NA team made it to the semi-finals in the first football tournament organised by the UHNM Charity.

On Saturday 29th June, D2NA, alongside other local organisations took part in the UHNM Charity’s Euro Tournament hosted in collaboration with PREM and Newcastle Town Football Club.

After being randomly allocated Italy as our adopted nation and captained by Customer Success Manager, John-Paul Donnelly, we made it through the group stage as winners, with victories against Spain, Belgium and Croatia, only conceding one goal in the process.

The quarter final draw was made, and pitted us up against the Netherlands who had finished runners-up in their group. A feisty encounter ended up in an Italian victory and meant we had a semi-final match-up against Spain.

After beating Spain in the group stage, the Spanish were keen for revenge and got it, which meant that our tournament ended at the semi-final stage. The tournament was eventually won by Czechia who included League One professional footballer Dwight Gayle within their ranks.

It was a fantastic event and raised crucial funds for the charity and we were privileged to be able to take part!
