Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus

The Cyber Essentials scheme is a Government-backed and industry supported accreditation that helps organisations demonstrate they are taking necessary steps to protect themselves from cyber security attacks and to keep customer data safe – a key requirement of the EU GDPR Regulations. It is not only best practice but is also now a requirement of doing business with the public sector.

As an IASME governed certifying body, we can offer 2 levels of certification with fixed-price solutions to help you achieve either Cyber Essentials Basic or Cyber Essentials Plus.

Both certifications require a self-assessment questionnaire to be completed, focusing on 5 essential mitigation strategies.

Firewalls

Secure Configuration

User Access Control

Malware Protection

Patch Management

For added assurance, we can assist you with the questionnaire.

Following the completion of the questionnaire, we will then perform an external vulnerability scan of your internet-connected devices & systems to ensure there are no known vulnerabilities. Non-IASME governed certification bodies may not offer this service.

With Cyber Essentials Plus, we will also include an on-site, internal scan and assessment of your infrastructure including workstations and mobile devices.

Once complete, we will then issue you with your certificate.

Work with the public sector?

Then Cyber Essentials is a mandatory requirement for you to be considered in the tender process.

Are you an SME?

You are a prime target for attack. SMEs are seen as the backdoors into larger companies. Eliminate this risk.

Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials Basic
  • Cyber Essentials Questionnaire
  • External Vulnerability Scan
  • Certification
  • Optional Assistance available (see below)

We recognise that some organisations already have the necessary IT knowledge and skills and will therefore be able to carry out all of the necessary preparation for this base level certification. In this instance, you will complete the self-assessment questionnaire yourself and we will perform the external scan. We will then review the results of both and a certificate will be issued if passed. If you do not have the in-house skills, we are able to assist with completing the questionnaire – see ‘Optional 1-day onsite assistance’ below.

Cyber Essentials PLUS
  • Cyber Essentials Questionnaire
  • External Vulnerability Scan
  • Onsite internal network scan
  • Certification
  • Optional Assistance available (see below)

This higher level of certification includes all the previous but offers even more assurance through an additional and thorough on-site internal scan of your network focusing on workstations & mobile devices.

Optional 1-Day Onsite Assistance

For both levels of Cyber Essentials certification, we can offer an additional day of consultancy conducted by one of our cyber security experts. They will work with you to complete the self-assessment questionnaire whilst helping you to understand any identified weaknesses in your security and provide recommendations to assist you in mitigating these risks to achieve a pass.

Cyber Essentials is a basic level of due diligence from which to build on – not a comprehensive cyber security strategy.
